Who
are we?
Harefield
is a small farmland area within the Shire of Junee, situated
in the Murrumbidgee River Valley, NSW. Dennis and Beverley
Lambert moved to this area of the Riverina in 1983, planted
their first pistachio trees and formed Harefield Pistachios.
Our
Orchards
Harefield
Pistachios consists of 2100 pistachio trees, which are harvested
once a year. Dennis germinated his own rootstock and over
several years, budded his trees using Sirora scion wood.
The
scion had been developed by the Australian Council for Scientific
and Industrial Research Organisation, as a unique Australian
variety of pistachio which would yield a vibrant, purple
and green kernel with a delicate, sweet flavour.
Fresh
Fruit
We
have specialised in the marketing of fresh
pistachio fruit and are market leaders in
this field. More recently we have been developing a new
and increasingly popular product - naturally
sun dried pistachios. These have not been salted
or roasted and therefore, still contain flavour and colour.
