Naturally Sun Dried Pistachio Nuts

Pistachios originated in the Middle East. They were roasted and salted to add salt to the diet and preserve the nut in a hot climate. Fortunately in Australia we don't need to go to this extreme and can enjoy the pistachio nut closer to its natural state.

Pistachio fruit selected for sun drying are dehulled and then dried on racks in the sun for 7 days. This reduces the moisture content to 5-8 percent. The dried nuts will keep in sealed containers for over 12 months and do not require refrigeration.

In comparison to kiln dried pistachios, the naturally sun dried nuts have more colour and flavour, making them a nutritious snack and perfect for use in cooking.

Our sun dried nuts are available throughout the year.

When and Where to Buy

Our sundried pistachios do not need to be refrigerated. They are packaged as the split shells, without the pink hull. If kept in an air-tight container, they can last for 10 - 12 months.

Currently they are available at:

  • Delish (Sydney)
  • Parafoods (Darwin)
  • A number of retail outlets in Wagga. Contact us for further information
